Elephant Butte Lake Fishing Report

A LITTLE WINDY..BUT THE FISHIN’ IS GOOD.. 05/11

The White Bass are still running all over the lake… dependable with slab spoons and Kastmasters…

Just start huntin’ for em.. if you don’t find fish in a few tries .. MOVE!!..

Crappie are good along the edges of the toolies…  with live fathead minnows…

Walleye fishing is fair using Walley Divers and Kastmasters or soft plastics along South Long Point and on the North end of the flats in McRae Canyon.  4 – 10 feet of water..

Catfish are on FIRE on the north end using cut bait…

The spawning protection project that the Game & Fish biologist did for us.. worked very well.. preliminarily we have had and are having a very productive spawn…  it helps to have rising water…  BUT… some one has decided that they do not have to play fair.. several of the signs have come up missing.. they were replaced and now are missing again.. REALLY??

Our biologists have lobbied for our lake and are getting monies that could go elsewhere.. for a project that helps everyone.. and someone is vandalizing the deal…   We have some ideas.. but if you guys every see anyone pluckin’ up the signs… let us know..

That’s meaner n’ stealin’ mama’s egg money !!   Just plain stupid…

sorry about missing the cinnamon rolls last week.. I did get them started.. then had a “run-off” at one of the gas pumps.. by the time that I got home.. they had risen bigger than a beach ball…. and it was too late to start over…

promise not to let ya’ down this Saturday Tina.. ..

Tell mama that you just gotta go fishin’.. you can do the honey-do list during the week..

come see us..
