CRAPPIES ARE BACK !! 03/22/17

McRae Canyon has come alive with Crappie… White or chrome jigs, live bait..  Jiggin’ around structure 10′ or so deep…

Whites are running well in McRae and around Long Point.. Trolling with end line spinners, or White or Yellow crank-baits..

Kris Flores has been catching large cats, he said that the Flat Heads are starting to show up..  Cut Bait, shrimp seem the be the ticket..  Other catfish reports have been coming in from north Rock Canyon.. Ozzy Sandstrom hauled in a  30 lb (or so he says) catfish from the rocks at the end of Long Point..

No reports on Walleye yet..

There is a Bass Tournament Saturday, so there will be more folks than usual on the lake.. Not sure about the Black Bass, no one is giving me any info..  Check the 10 lb Black that Gene Thomas has below.. that was caught earlier this week..

The water temps are crawling up.. the action is getting hot.. but the wind is also getting up.. The mornings and evening seem to be the best.. this weekend forecast is calling for WIND in the afternoons.. So keep yur’ head about ya’ and get in before you get caught…

I will post the Catfish Tournament rules and entry form tomorrow..  The Registration will be in person at Butte General Store & Marine,, Cash only (folding money).  that is so we can turn the cash into prizes immediately without having to do any banking..

Tell Mama that you are too tired to mess with the to-do list…

Come see us..

Bob
