Elephant Butte Lake Fishing Report

Friday July 28, 2017

The fishin’ is good.. the weather is “iffy” 07/27

The weather is overcast and forecast says it’ll stay that way through the weekend… but those guys are never right anyway…

But the fishing has stayed strong..

Water temperature in A.M. 78 degrees, water clarity 3 feet.

White bass fishing is fair around rattle snake and kettle top, look for birds working. Kastmasters, white or chrome slabs.  white or yellow sassy shads…  pretty much anything that shines or looks like an injured minnow…

Night fishing for the Whites has continued to be very productive..  around any kind of structure.. keep the bait (live shiners) just outside of the light beam..

Walleye bite still good also off rocky point’s and on gravel 10 to 20 feet of water.

Catfishing has had a resurgence.. Blues and Flatheads are biting on fresh cut bait and bluegills.. the bigger the better..

Black Bass have been good.. rocky points, drop shots, niko rigs.. no real pattern to em..

No reports of small mouth this week..

We will have cinnamon rolls on Saturday morning.. come getcha some…

tell Mama that it too cloudy for the Honey-do list..

Come see us…

bob

the only fish that Rocky will catch all year.. (at the minnow tank)…

Rocky fishin’ in the minnow tanks again…

Nice Black Bass caught & released in McRae canyon..
