WEEK OF 7/13.. HOT.. HOT..HOT…

Good thing that I hate cold weather.. cause it sure is HOT…

The heat has slowed the fishing.. We are still seeing good catches of White Bass and Crappie in the backs of coves and around the toolies..  in 10 or so feet of water.  They are still chasing the bait fish in the backs of coves and along sandy banks..  Jiggin’ with 3/8 Kastmasters has been good also..  White, yellow or pink crankbaits have been dependable..

Early mornings and evenings are still the best.

Night fishing in the backs of coves and around rocky shore lines..  has been producing good Whites and a few Crappie.  The tires at Rock Canyon have always been the dependable night fishing spot, but this year I have heard that it is not producing very well..  Catches have been inconsistent and  the fish have been small.

Frank Vilorio has had good luck cruising the lake looking for the Whites boiling on bait fish..So as I usually say.. if you are not catching fish.. Change somethin’  .. go huntin’ the coves for boiling Whites… then pull up and cast in to em’

Walleye are still fair to good, depends on the day..  Overcast days have produced better catches (go figure). still finding Walleye on the south side of Long Point and any were that the sandy beaches transition into rocks..  If you are fishing for Whites, keep a yellow Wally Diver tied up… casting or trolling occasionally has been finding Walleye…

Catfish are fair up north and anywhere that a rocky shoreline drops steeply.. fishing with anything that is dead or stinks like it’s dead.. 15 – 20 feet..  If you are night fishing for Whites around trees or bushes.. try sinking a toe sack with dog food under the boat and dropping a line for catfish…  that has produced some good Catfish lately…

Justin is taking his Butte Marine, New Mexico State Bass Team Nitro Z21 to Ute this weekend.. wish him luck.. he has been consistently  in the top 5 at the tournaments..

Knock the Honey-do list out by Friday… & come see us…
