Elephant Butte Lake Fishing Report

Friday March 18, 2016

17 March

the White Bass catches have been getting better with each warm day..

White & chrome crankbaits trolling in 15 – 20 feet.  Mainly on the North end from Kettletop to the Black Bluffs.

Some action has been found south of Kettletop around Castle Rock and the coves in that area.

Minnows or anything that looks like a minnow seem to be dependable.

The best reports are coming from the mornings and evenings..

Not much action reported around McRey or the Jungles yet.. but don’t be afraid to try those areas if you are not catching fish in the northern areas.

Remember.. if yur not catchin’ fish..change something..

Some Whites and Crappies are being caught at Damsite but not dependable yet.

Crappie are still deep and slow.

Catfish are still dependable around the bluffs and the rocks at the end of Long Point.  Cut bait, liver, worms and frozen shrimp.. pretty much anything that stinks…

No Walleye reports at all in the last week..

If the weather holds out and the Wind Gods take pity on us..  this weekend should be worth the trip.. So drag out the boat Colin, you have to start fishin’ sometime..

There is a Bass Tournament this weekend, it should be well attended.

Don’t forget to get your licences online before you leave the house..

Watch the weather, be safe

hide the honey-do list.. call in sick…play hookie… just come & see us..
