Sorry about the late report.. we have been incredibly busy.. ( its a good thing )
Lots of folks fishing everyday.. all with great results..
The patterns have not changed since last weeks report (refer to last weeks report)
Still a morning and late afternoon bite, although the mid day has not been too bad.
White Bass are starting to run shad up to the backs of the coves.. so if you are bank fishing, long casing across the backs of coves is a good bet.. shallow white or chrome crank baits and end line spinners are working good.
Black bass are still strong around points with structure…
You will see NM Game & Fish signs asking you not to fish in particular coves.. I is an attempt to relive pressure from strategic areas during the spawn. It is voluntary, but please, please, please pay attention to the signs and fish elsewhere until the spawn is over.. this will benefit everyone..
The bass clubs and local fishermen have worked with NM Game & Fish to get this done.. The officers with Game & Fish had to do some string pulling at Santa Fe. So please, if you see em’ let em’ know that it is appreciated..
You will probably get a ration of grief from locals and the bass anglers if you are seen fishing those areas..
The Crappie and Walleye are in the same areas as last week, just biting stronger…
So put the honey-doo off for one more week & come see us..
Mike and his son caught limits on walleye after traveling here from Santa Fe… and he said that we didn’t have fish ??
