The wind has squelched the fishing for the last few days.. so the reports are sketchy…
Whites and crappie are reporting in about the same as the last two weeks.. so refer back to the last two reports..
the strong winds have kept the fishing limited to the bank or the larger boats.. no good reporting though..
The Catfish Tournament will proceed without fail…
Registration will continue into the evening of Friday April 28th (day after tomorrow) . At 7 pm the NM Game & Fish guys will give a briefing on the condition of the elusive Catfish in Elephant Butte. Should be good poop.. they have been doing fish surveys all week on the lake.
Kris Flores from Muddy River Catfishin’ will give a presentation about his techniques and baits.. this should be good, cause Kris has been fishing the Catfish in Elephant Butte for several years and had built quite a business around it.. He consistently catches large fish..
We will gather at the Rock Canyon ramp on Saturday at 7am for the start of the tournament. every team must have one or both team members present. From there you may disperse to your hearts content…
The final call will be at 3pm that afternoon at the same local as the start. Every one (both team members) must be present with your 5 best fish. The weigh in will start at that time.
Once all of the teams are in and weighed.. we will gather back at Butte General Store for the awards ceremony at approximately 5pm.
the prizes include Bass Pro Shop Gift certificates for $1000, $500 & $250. As well as a dispersal of the entry fees.
The wind is forecast to blow… so be prepared.
