Elephant Butte Lake Fishing Report

Friday October 14, 2016

Well the fishin’ has officially slowed down…

Still finding good stringers of Whites and the occasional Walleye..

Refer to the last fishin’ report for details.. nuthin” has changed..

Trot Lining for Catfish should be getting very good soon when the water chill’s a little more.  I will keep you advised..

Plan on using Stink baits, cut baits & shrimp.. So you can start a stink bait recipe brewing in a bucket  out back.. that’ll make the neighbors think that something is dead in your yard.

Good cheap entertainment ….

Ducks are starting to show up.. Waterfowl are coming down on the upper lake.. Resident Canadian Geese are also on the upper lake areas.. Hopefully the weather will get cold soon and we can have a good duck season..   I you never have hunted waterfowl here at Elephant Butte, you are in for an unexpected treat..

Call Frank Vilorio ( 575-740-4710) or Justin at Muddy River Outfitters (505)908-1268,, they will put you some ducks and teach you what you need to know…

Once you get the bug… we will sell you Tracker Grizzly Duck Boat…  (selfless plug)..

Fishin’ may be slow, but that’s not a reason not to go fishin”…  Wrap up the Honey-do list early and come see us..

Just another morning on Frank Vilorio’s boat.. What a great morning..
