Elephant Butte Lake Fishing Report

Friday March 30, 2018

the algae bloom that I mentioned last week has moved down to the south end.. the water clarity is “zilch”.

This has slowed the fishin somewhat.. but the big Whites are still bitin’ in 15-20 feet of water on White Bombers, Kastmaster jigs and Slab Spoons.

Several folks caught good stringers of Whites along the south / east end of long point trolling and then jigging..

The backs of the deeper coves on the east side are still producing White Bass and Smallmouth Bass.  The Smallmouth seem to like most any plastic baits..  use what you are confident with..

We saw a few Walleye come from the same coves as the Whites .. but still no pattern..

Good stringers of Catfish were found in the deeper openings of the same coves.. Live bait and cut bait..

No reports on Stripers..

The weather is forecast to be pretty nice and warm this weekend..

Tell mama that you want to take the kids fishin’ for Easter..  (sort of appropriate, don’t ya think)

Come see us..

“You can just about always stand more ‘n you think ya can..”

that’s Alex catchin’  Whites by the Damsite with a stick, a string and a weenie on a  hook..
How COOL is THAT!!
