The fishing is slowly getting better.. the wind early in the week kept the fisherfolks off of the lake..But the recent warm weather has brought out a lot of folks.. the results have been good..
Large White Bass are being caught in the deep coves and along the rocky shorelines.. Live Bait, White Bombers & Kastmasters are the ticket.. if you haven’t noticed, those are the “go to” baits around this time of year when you are hunting for fish..
Water temps are in the low 50’s (degrees) at mid lake.. the annual algae bloom is in full swing.. the water clarity is not unlike peanut butter on the north end and in the backs of some coves.. just don’t drink it..
The fish are starting to move into the backs of coves and up along the banks of the sides of coves.. no action has been reported in the main lake or the main lake shorelines.. This is the time of year that you will hear me say ..KEEP MOVIN’. if you don’t catch fish in 15 minutes or so.. MOVE.. don’t stay in one place unless you find fish..
Frank Vilorio has been putting customers on Large Whites with small split tail grubs in the deeper coves. Large mouth bass also have been caught in the same areas on small plastics..
No reports on the Walleye this week..
Catfish are good in the coves also and along rocky shores.. 15 – 20 feet deep. Using live bait & cut bait. Stephanie has received our stock of Catfish baits and equipment. Take some time to watch Muddy River Catfishing’s U-tube videos about Kris Flores’ Catfishing techniques.. Really interesting stuff,, and it really works.. Now WE have his baits and tackle in stock..
As usual we have live bait in stock year around.. we are currently prepping the back stock tanks and ordering fish so that (hopefully ) we do not run out of minnows anytime this season..
Dust off yur’ gear and come see us..
