White Bass and Crappie are continuing to get better.. Live bait seems to be the best for the last few days..
Whites were very good south of the “murk line” on the flats of McRae Canyon.. also in Jet Boat Cove and around Rattlesnake Island. Trolling with crank baits or spinners in 6-8 feet of water.. then when you find em.. switch to live bait.. or jig with Kastmasters or chrome jigs..
Crappie are good in Hospital Canyon and Ash Canyon..mostly on live baits.. that’s the first report of good fishing down that far south this season..
Water temps are in the mid to high 50’s in the mornings..
Catfish are still good around structure… cut baits and live baits..
Still no real dependable news on the Walleye.. some have been picked up on the Flats of McRae on swim-baits.. but that’s all that I have heard… will advise..
Blacks and Smallmouth are better.. main lake points with plastics… Blacks and Smallmouth are all over the place .. no real good techniques to report.
Once you find fish.. STAY on em’ … don’t leave fish to find fish.. some areas are hot one day and not the next..
the Spawn is right around the corner.. the water levels are good.. we currently have more inflow than outflow.. resulting in rising water levels… we have the opportunity to have a better than average spawn. so STAY OFF THE BEDS… (please).. let those mamma fish raise their broods.. please pay attention to the “no fishing” zones for a month or so.. It really matters..
Plannin’ on making the “over the top” cinnamon rolls” for Saturday morning.. come get ya’ some…
Tell yer kid that you will take em’ fishin’ if they do your Honey-do list…
come see us…
nice stringer from Frank Vilorio’s boat.. just look at that grin…
