Elephant Butte Lake Fishing Report

Thursday May 5, 2016

Water temp is in the mid 60 range.. so the Whites have become very aggressive..

They have started to push the bait fish to the backs of the coves.. so if you are bank fishing, go the backs of the coves and toss live bait (we have plenty) or long cast across with white / silver crank baits or end line spinners..

Whites have been active pretty much everywhere..  on crank bait, swim baits, live bait and Kastmasters..

Crappie are best around Kettle Top, Jet Boat cove, Rock Canyon using Fat Head Minnows. ( we have plenty ) …

Walleye bite is VERY GOOD  at Kettle Top, Castle Rock, Long Point around to Rock Canyon.

Still a better bite in the mornings and evenings.

Night fishing is starting to get real good with live bait. Damsite will open for night fishing on Memorial Day weekend

Don’t forget to get your fishing license at home on the NM Game & Fish Website, BEFORE you come to the lake..  We have a portal for you to use for $2.50.. but it is usually pretty crowded..

Cinnamon rolls this Sat. and Sun..  at the General Store..

Tell mamma that the honey-do list is gonna have to wait… come see us..
