The spring patterns are starting to show up..
White bass fishing is good in coves and also open water , some are starting to come up to the bank , Inline spinners, white & chartreuse crank baits. Bigger ones are still being caught in deeper water jiggin’ with slab spoons and Kastmasters.. They have been all over the lake this week.. North and South, mostly on the east side.. no reports of Whites on the West side yet..
If you are bank fishing try Ash Canyon / Damsite area.. around the rocks… or go to Long Point, out on the very end in the toolies and around the rocks.. Live Shiners and White / Chartreuse Crank baits..
No reports of night fishing yet.. but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try.. Live Shiners are king at night..
Large mouth bass and Small mouth bass are transitioning to the bank, plastic baits are a good option, also small crank baits. They seem to be in the coves and moving along the banks. Not around the points yet..
Blue Cats are also being caught on cut bait all over the lake. Deeper coves and rocky ledges seem to be producing the best catches.. If you can’t get cut bait, start with frozen shrimp and / or chicken livers..
Occasional Walleye being caught in shallow water. They seem to be fickle this year.. one week they are on,,then off again..The only ones that I heard of this week were caught by folks also catchin’ Whites.. Yellow inline spinners, Yellow Wally Divers.
Crappies are starting to bite in 10 to 15 feet of water. Mostly up North and the backs of the Northern coves in the toolies. Small curly tail jigs & Live Fatheads..
I plan on making the big-ol’ cinnamon rolls Friday night.. so we should have em’ hot & fresh on Saturday morning.. come & getcha one… it’ll ruin ya..
Tell mama to finalize that honey-do list.. you gotta go fishin’
