FISHIN REPORT 10/05/2023

Well I finally have gathered up a GOOD fishin’ report..
Several locals and a few visitors gave me good reports this week..
Frank Vilorio filled us in on his success with his customers also..

Water temperature in the mornings is around 73 degrees

White bass fishing has been good using live bait, sassy shad, Alabama rigs and slabs off the bottom around the flats of McRae, back in McRae canyon and around Rattle Snake Island.
Watch for seagulls feeding over schools of White bass.
Good reports of Whites chasing shad along the beaches on the West side in the evenings..

Crappies are biting off of rocky points leading to the main Chanel using small jigs tipped with live bait, small kastmasters and white slabs. Several folks figured this out this week with some pretty nice stringers of Crappie..

Few walleyes been caught off south long point using deep diving crankbaits and jigs. 10 – 15 feet deep.

Few stripers caught using slabs off the bottom in 25 to 30 ft. of water around Rattle Snake Island.

Stripers are looking very healthy, please practice catch and release to bring back our great fishery

Large mouth bass fishing is good using plastics off of gravel points back of coves leading to deep water.

Get those kids out and go fishin’ before it gets too cold.. after that, bundle em’ up and go fishin’ anyway…

Stephanie has suspended the burritos for the winter until next year.. so eat before you get here..
