FISHIN’ REPORT… MEMORIAL DAY WEEK.. 05/26

Well, the rumors are flyin’ around about the lake levels.. like I said last week, It’s probably gonna be ugly but NOT tragic… We are still fortunate to have a great recreation recourse to bring our families… So just come to the lake, it’s better than stayin’ home !!

On the up side of things the fishin’ is great as usual this time of year…

White bass are very good from south long point to rattle snake island.
Look for bird activity leading to surface feeding fish. Top water lures, crank baits , kastmasters and soft plastics are working good.
When surface feeding slows down around mid day, look for fish in deeper water and go to slabs off the bottom.

Walleye fishing very good using deep diving crankbaits, jig heads with soft plastics curly tail or paddle tail jigs , bottom bouncers with worm harness also very productive going 1 mile. Per hour.

Some folks caught nice catfish off of long point a few nights ago using cut baits. Usually this time of year a good bet is live bluegills.. So then you get to go use your ultra light tackle around the marinas to catch bluegill and then fish all night for catfish.. Bonus!!

No reports on Black Bass or Small mouth.. but I do suspect that they are very active off of main lake and secondary points on creature baits and plastics..

Night fishin’ is very good also using live shiners under floating lights or underwater lights around any structure.

This weekend is shaping up to be a big crowd.. but don’t let that scare ya.. there’s plenty of room…

Children can’t bounce of the walls if we take away the walls? Erin Kenny.. so take em’ fishin”

We’re makin’ extra “Gut Greanade” burritos this weekend.. so show up early and get’cha one…

come see us..
