FISHIN’ REPORT week of 05/04 – the Walleye are showin’ up

Walleye fishing has started up now with daily catches. Good baits are paddle tail grubs, curly tail jigs, crank baits and bottom bouncers with worm harness working good, trolling slow over gravel points. Along South Long Point is always a great place to start…

Fishing picks up at times when south western winds blow to the banks. Early morning, late afternoon is good.

Crappies have slowed down in open water but are still being caught in coves, but let them spawn in the coves so we’ll have another awesome spring next year.

White bass is good in deep water trolling crank baits and swim baits, also drifting with live shiners.

Night fishin’ under the lights around structure is starting to pick up..

Rocky has our bait tanks well stocked with live Shiners and Fatheads… Always the best option for Whites and Crappie..

No one has weighed any Smallmouth bass yet on the $10,000 challenge.. So get out there and getcha’ one..

The water is warming well now.. so the spawns will start soon, if not already.. PLEASE be conscious of spawning fish.. be a good steward & leave em alone.. we need the spawn for the next few generations of fish.. You can always move out to deeper water and find semithin’ to catch.. it’s just good sportsmanship..

The weather looks good in the mornings’ for this weekend, but the wind might be getting up in the afternoons.. so be prepared..

tell mamma that the honey-do list is gonna have to wait…

come see us..
