FISHIN’ REPORT WEEK OF 05/15/2023

Well the fishin is gettin really good.. most all of the folks that fished Monday & Tuesday caught good stringers of fish..
Frank Vilorio (who provided most of this information by the way ) put all of his customers on good catches..

Whitebass very good using, kastmasters, swimbaits, slabs and Alabama rigs. Look for flying seagulls diving down on feeding schools of fish. In Hot Springs landing area, McRae Canyon and around Rattle Snake Island.

Crappie have been very good.. Most folks are trolling Alabama rigs and crankbaits Look for drop offs and submerged humps and slab or jig off the bottom. Good spots have been Lions beach to Hot Springs Landing, Rattle Snake Island and McRae canyon.

Some Walleyes are biting using crankbaits, curly tail jigs and night crawlers on a jig head. Target long point with gravel and points leading out to deeper water. Some crappies biting around bushes in back of coves using live bait and small crappie jigs on a bobber.

Good for large mouth bass and small mouth bass close to the bank using craw type baits and wacky worms.

No one reported any catfish action this week, but I presume that it is good along steep banks, cut bait and bluegills if you can catch em..

The weather has been nice for the last few days and is supposed to be the same for awhile. Any winds have been gettin’ up in the late afternoons..

Stephanie will have the big ol’ Casa Taco burritos again on Fri, Sat & Sun… Come getcha one’..

It all begins with getting them outdoors, teaching them conservation, and exposing them to the beauty of the outside. Many children aren’t getting enough of nature in their lives and many aren’t fishing. Take your children outside and give them a rod.

come see us..
