Fishin’ Report – week of 05/18/2023

Well the report is not all that great.. the fast influx of water is keeping the lake murky and the low pressure and rain the last few days. The fast rising water keeps the fish uneasy..

Water temps are high 60s,,.. 66-68 degrees in the afternoons..

I did get some good reports of Whites being caught around Kettletop and McCrae Canyon (north side).. using live Shiners and jiggin’ with Kastmasters.

Trolling with white or chrome crankbaits also produced a few good catches..

No good reports of Crappie in the last few days..

The fishin should improve through the weekend as the weather pattern moves out..

The local Fruit Jar tournament this week produced some nice Black Bass.. using creature baits along rocky shorelines in the backs of coves on the east side.

Catfish are biting well along the west side up north and the steep banks of long point.. live bait or frozen shrimp.. live Bluegills are the best.. Be carefull getting out to the end of Long Point.. the water is rising so fast that you might get marooned.. (seriously)

No night fishing reports this week due to the weather, but night fishing will probably be good this weekend..

Stephanie will have the big ol’ Casa Taco burritos this weekend.. Friday, Saturday & Sunday mornings.. get em’ early if ya can.. they have been selling out quick..

Come see us..
