FISHIN REPORT… WEEK OF 05/26

Water temperature rising to 68 degrees at mid lake in the AM.

Walleye bite continues to be good using twin tail grubs. Single tail grubs on a jig head in chartreuse color tipped with a piece of night crawler in 4 to 10 feet of water. Targeting long gravel points leading to deep water or the chanel. Swim baits also productive on a jig head or swim bait with a spinner. Work lure off the bottom trolling less than 1 mile per hour. Bottom bouncers with worm harness using night crawlers are also producing Walleyes. Jig head with a minnow will also work.

Crappie fishing is good in the back of coves in 4 to 15 feet of water. Crappie jigs tipped with a small minnow will work. Small cast masters also are working.

White bass are good using crankbaits, swim baits and kastmasters. Try deep water in the morning then look for them pushing shad to the bank later in the day.

This weekend (Memorial Day) may prove to be pretty crowded… the fish may get tight lipped due to the pressure.. but you can usually find a quiet cove.. just be courteous to your neighbor and enjoy the lake..

The $10,000 smallmouth bounty has yet to be claimed.. one of the Kayakers in last weeks tournament hauled in a 6.8lb smallmouth.. nice fish but just a bit light.. that fish is still out there so go catch it..

the smoke is pretty thick in the mornings and seems to blow away in the afternoons.. the wind may get up in the afternoons this weekend.. so watch the weather and don’t get caught out there..

Stephanie will have the good ol’ Casa Taco Gut Grenade burritos on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings.. come getcha one..

Tell mama that she needs to pack up and come to the lake with ya…

come see us..
