FISHIN’ REPORT WEEK OF 05/31/2023

The fishin has improved over last week.. the weather has been consistently better and the crowds have gotten smaller.. Big holiday weekends are rough on the fishin..

Water temps are in the low 70’s at mid lake in the mornings..

White bass fishing is fair trolling crankbaits, kastmasters and swim baits, up North on the west side around Kettle Top and the rocky coves to the North.. Long point is still producing nice Whites in the coves on the very West end. You gotta get there by boat, the road to the end of Long point is under water..

Night fishin’ has been the best this week.. live shiners at 15 – 25 feet deep around the marinas and most any rocky outcroppings.. The Nebo green LED “Submerser” lights seem to be the ticket for lighting.. We have a bunch more ordered.. should be in by this weekend.

Walleyes being caught north of the black bluffs slow trolling twin tail grubs tipped with a worm, also mid Walley Diver tipped with a night crawler worm in 10 to 15 feet of water. Also on the South shore line of Long Point along the gravel banks.. Several really nice size Walleye have been caught..

Crappies fair using small live minnows in back of coves slow trolling over brush. Crappie have been caught pretty much all over the lake this week, over brush..

No reports on Catfish or Black Bass or Smallmouth this week..

Frank Vilorio is catchin’ good fish as usual, he helps me with this report as well as a few other local folks.. So if your havin’ trouble findin’ fish, pay Frank to teach you a little about this lake,… it’ll be worth it..

Stephanie will have breakfast burritos on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings as usual… come getcha’ one.. it’ll drop to bottom of your belly and stay all day..

Pay the neighbor kit do do the “honey-do” list and come fishin’
