FISHIN’ REPORT – Week of 07/28

White bass are very good using curly tail jigs, slabs , rooster tails and in-line spinners.

Early morning with top water lures also working when casting into boils. Look for diving Sea gulls leading you to feeding schools.

Small stripers also being caught along with White bass, please let them go , catch and release them! They are about 14 to 16 inches and are longer and leaner than white bass. We need them to grow up for another year or so. You are out there for the Whites anyway…

Walleye fishing is good on gravel points at 8 to 12 feet using worm harness and bottom bouncers, Yellow or white walley divers, flicker shad, deep diving crankbaits running on the bottom

Large mouth bass ,small mouth bass very good off points leading to deep water with plastics and jigs, early morning top water good before sunrise ,using pop-r’s , torpedo top water lures.

Crappie are still good at night using lights and live shiners and fathead minnows. some folks are doing well jiggin with small kastmasters under the lights.

The dam is running strong again for a few more weeks.. so the lake is dropping again.. be aware of were you are.. deep enough last week may not be deep enough this week.. Should be shut off soon. Makes a great time for floatin’ the river though!!

Late afternoon “heat showers” are common.. but occasionally we are getting windier than a bag of whistling lips, then a toad-stranglin’ gully-washer… sometimes we get it all at the same time.. so be prepared…

Kids are fixin’ to have go back to school.. so take em’ to the lake before their summer is over…

Stephanie will have the “gut-grenade” burritos again this weekend.. Fri, Sat & Sunday… As always, she has em’ till they are gone..

Come see us.
