Lake Is Open and The Fishin’ is Good…

Currently the lake hours (I can’t get used to sayin that).. lake hours are 6am till 8pm..
State park guys are pleading with everyone to follow the safe distancing guidelines.. If we are seen with a large crowd or anything that may look like a crowd,, we may get closed again… so PLEASE.. do your best “social distancing” impressions…

now… for the fishin report…

Whites are spotty,, on Monday and Tuesday the BIG white bass were biting good.. then Yesterday and today they quit… Today some good stringers of medium sized Whites were caught on the East side in front of McCray canyon as well as up north at the Chalk bluffs. Some folks were trolling with Chartreuse or yellow, chrome crank baits.. some folks were jiggin spoons over schools of Whites..

haven’t seen the birds flyin over the shad yet.. but when they do, get under em…

Right now the schools of shad are enormous.. so the fish are full of natural food.. they are not really interested in your shiners or crank baits..

Small Mouth bass were strong on the sides of main lake points .. We saw one come in to the scale at just a shade under 5 lbs.. NICE…

No reports on Black Bass or Catfish yet..

Walleye are Fair over sandy banks and gravel beds on the east side by the “S” curve by Castle Rock and Pump House cove… bouncing Yellow, White or Silver Crankbaits and Walley Divers on the bottom in about 5-10 feet of water.

Rocky has our minnow tanks cranked up.. so we have plenty of Shiners and Fatheads…

Come and fish… the lake is callin ya…

come see us..
